"My art is created through an age old, super secret process, and gives
the images their deep detail and limitless dimension. They are hard and
real but also smooth and organic. Nothing like them exists and they have
been described as "psychedelic, retro, spiritual and cosmic." Labels not
applied by me but descriptive. The creation of them takes hours of pre-paint
preparation and planning. Then a complex masking and layering procedure
follows and finally (depending on the prevailing medium) a sealing and forced
drying. Some are even pressed to close the designs in a resinous flow. I have
seen all sorts of things climbing out of the images from rivers of flaming skulls
churning into Dante like caverns, fields of dreamy mushrooms in fairy worlds
to streaming waterfalls cascading through fantasy rock formations. Often I find
that the images transform themselves before my eyes revealing unseen shapes and
forms unplanned and unexpected. The process which I have dubbed "holidagram"
and borrowed from ancient pressman is unique in it's detail and depth. Unlike
computer generated images which lose their perspective under closer examination,
these paintings demand micro scrutiny and more detailed analysis. By letting the viewer's
imagination loose to create it's own internal focal points within the "bigger picture"
more and more subtitles are created within the main frame. But letting the eyes glaze
creates a total merging of the micronisms. They use no tricks (like squinting or 3D
glasses). Web images do no real justice to them unless viewed through a extremely
high res or incredibly tight detail. I hope you enjoy them and email me with your opinions.
